VanEck files for AVAX ETF 🏦
VanEck, a global investment manager, has filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an Avalanche (AVAX) exchange-traded fund (ETF) to provide direct exposure to the smart contract platform. The filing has been shared by Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart, highlighting increasing crypto ETF interest.
The proposed VanEck Avalanche ETF aims to reflect the AVAX token price, excluding operational expenses. It will value its shares based on the MarketVector Avalanche Benchmark Rate.
The popularity of US spot Bitcoin ETFs and a pro-crypto administration have led to a surge in crypto fund applications. The SEC is reviewing several filings, including those for XRP, Solana, Litecoin, and Dogecoin ETFs.
Analysts expect relatively high chances of SEC approval later this year. A report by JPMorgan predicts that altcoin ETF approvals could trigger billions in inflows, with SOL and XRP likely attracting significant institutional interest.
