Despite the innovations, investors view layer-2 networks critically, labeling them as revenue-draining elements that contribute minimally to Ethereum's layer-1 economic value.
The dramatic drop in Ethereum's gas fees post-Dencun upgrade saw significant revenue loss for the network, with ETH prices subsequently declining, indicating ongoing challenges for Ethereum's economic model.
