Anthropic's X account got hacked, leading scammers to promote a fake 'CLAUDE' token falsely marketed to incentivize AI and crypto projects. It included a wallet address, resulting in $100,000 being stolen from investors in just 30 minutes.

The scammers bought 10% of the token supply in multiple wallets before dumping it for profit. The scam exploited the rising interest in AI projects, exposing the security vulnerabilities of high-profile accounts.

A prominent fintech advisor, Adam Cochran, warned users: "The Anthropic (Claude) Twitter is likely hacked. Don’t interact with any links, don’t buy the token." Despite addressing the hack, Anthropic, highly invested in by Google and Amazon, hasn't made an official statement.

The situation mirrors an earlier incident where OpenAI's X account got hacked, promoting fake tokens through phishing links. These scams highlight ongoing threats at the intersection of AI and crypto.
