Stablecoin, market structure bills should get done this year — Rep. Khanna 🇺🇸
US Representative Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California, expressed optimism about the prospects of passing stablecoin and crypto market structure bills in Congress this year. Speaking at the Digital Assets Summit on March 18, Khanna noted that these legislative efforts could enhance American influence globally by increasing access to dollars through stablecoins.
Khanna also criticized President Trump's memecoin, Official Trump (TRUMP), stating that public officials should not be associated with such distractions, which detract from the fundamental technology of blockchain and crypto.
Stablecoin bills, like the GENIUS Act, are already progressing in Congress, and Khanna is working on the FIT21 Act for crypto market structure. While supportive of blockchain technology, Khanna emphasized the need for regulatory clarity to benefit the industry.
