$52M Canadian commercial property tokenized by Polymesh, Ocree Capital 🇨🇦
Securities dealer Ocree Capital and Polymesh have launched a regulated real estate platform in Canada, allowing investors access to tokenized shares of a commercial property. The platform debuted with a $51.9 million property in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Ocree is offering $4 million in equity to investors via fractional shares. CEO Ted Davis clarified that investors are involved in equity, not debt, via a limited partnership interest.
The property uses Polymesh's blockchain, offering liquidity to property owners and access to premium opportunities for investors.
Ocree, registered with the Ontario Securities Commission, can distribute properties to accredited investors across Canada, except Quebec.
Tokenization is revolutionizing finance, with institutions like JPMorgan Chase and Citibank exploring tokenized products. Market forecasts suggest a multitrillion-dollar potential by 2030.
