Base now ranks second among Ethereum rollups, trailing only behind Arbitrum One. The total value locked in Base’s smart contracts grew by 8781% to $4.46 billion.

Active users increased by 1280% to 1.25 million, with a peak of 3.59 million daily users on June 20, 2025. Transactions soared over 2000%, averaging 7.5 million daily over the year, while network fees halved to $0.005 per transaction.

Despite a recent network outage on August 5, which paused block production for 33 minutes, Base developers promised improvements.
