路透社:Coinbase 与 Gemini 有望即将获得可在欧盟范围内运营牌照 🇪🇺
ChainCatcher reports that, according to sources cited by Reuters, cryptocurrency companies Coinbase and Gemini are close to obtaining licenses allowing operations throughout the EU. This development comes amid increasing differences in licensing speed and rigor among regulators in various countries.
The EU's Market in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), effective earlier this year, allows EU member states to issue licenses for crypto companies to operate within all 27 member countries. Sources reveal that Malta is about to grant Gemini an operational license. Previously, Malta approved licenses for OKX and Crypto.com shortly after the new regulations took effect.
Additionally, debates around regulation intensify with expectations that Luxembourg will soon grant a license to Coinbase. Although the application process has been ongoing for months, some note that Coinbase's planned operations in Luxembourg will be relatively small. A Coinbase representative did not comment on the application but stated the company employs about 200 people in Europe, investing in resources to ensure operational safety.
