SEC Faces 240-Day Countdown for XRP ETF Decision Following Key Filings ⏳
The SEC now faces a 240-day deadline to make decisions regarding two XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs): the Grayscale XRP Trust and the 21Shares Core XRP Trust. These filings, listed in the Federal Register, mark a significant step for XRP-based investment products.
As noted by Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, the SEC must approve or deny the Grayscale ETF by October 18 and the 21Shares ETF by October 19, 2025. This follows similar filings for companies like Bitwise Investment.
Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan highlighted the demand for an XRP ETF, citing its established community and the SEC's newfound openness for dialogue. Polymarket predicts an 81% approval chance by 2025.
