Nasdaq has submitted a proposal to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) which, if approved, could significantly impact the Bitcoin ETF market. The proposal focuses on introducing an in-kind redemption model for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF, also known as IBIT.
This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency, catering to the growing interest and inflows in Bitcoin ETFs. By adopting an in-kind model, the ETF would allow redemptions to be settled in actual Bitcoin rather than cash, thereby streamlining processes and potentially reducing associated costs.
