Utilizing a 50x leverage, the trader’s position on 160,234 Ether was liquidated when the price hit $1,877, just below their entry at $1,900. Leveraged trading amplifies risks as it can magnify both losses and gains, a reality that hit hard during volatile market conditions.
The whale had initially moved all Bitcoin holdings into this leveraged Ether trade, as per Lookonchain’s data. Their liquidation coincided with a period of heightened economic volatility tied to global trade war fears and EU tariffs, impacting both crypto and traditional markets alike.
Ether’s ongoing price downtrend may deepen, with possible corrections to around $1,800 amidst macroeconomic instability, high operating fees on the Ethereum network, and further concerns regarding ETF outflows. US spot Ether ETFs have registered a negative net flow for the fourth consecutive week, heightening concerns over future price movements.
